Yes, when engineered with reinforced fork-entry channels, edge rails, and adequate wall thickness at the contact zones. Fork entry is often the harsher event than static stacking, because forks deliver point impacts at speed. The tray should be tested under the dynamic loads of lifting, turning, and impact before it is approved for dock use.
How do molded pulp pallet trays compare with wooden pallet components?
Molded pulp trays carry high loads with ribbed geometry, need no ISPM 15 heat treatment for export, and recycle as fiber at end of life. Wooden components are strong but require phytosanitary treatment documentation and can splinter or absorb moisture. Molded pulp also allows custom pockets and cradles for round or irregular loads that flat-cut wood cannot provide.

Are molded pulp pallet trays recyclable and export-compliant?
Molded pulp trays are recyclable fiber packaging and, unlike wood, do not require ISPM 15 heat treatment for international shipment. Compostability certification is available when the fiber furnish and coatings meet standards such as ASTM D6400 or EN 13432. What should a pallet tray RFQ include?
A complete RFQ covers the static stacking weight and stack height, dynamic fork rating, footprint and entry-channel dimensions, fiber and density, moisture or barrier requirement, the agreed ISTA or ASTM test method with conditioning, and dimensional tolerances including allowable warp.
