What is hot-press smooth molded pulp?

Hot-press smoothing presses the dried part again with heat against a smooth tool, densifying the surface for a finer feel and better print surface at the cost of extra tooling and cycle time. Texture-molded parts skip this step and keep the natural fiber character straight off the screen mold.

Can molded pulp be printed with brand graphics?

Yes, but the fiber surface absorbs ink unevenly compared with coated board, so printing works best on hot-pressed smooth surfaces. Common methods are screen printing, flexography, and direct digital printing — suppliers recommend testing ink adhesion on the actual finish before committing to a design.

How are logos added to molded pulp?

Logos are most often debossed — pressed into the surface with recessed tooling — which works on textured and smooth finishes alike.
