Custom Mold Design Process

Mold design is where 80% of project success is determined. A well-designed mold produces consistent quality for hundreds of thousands of units. A rushed mold leads to defects, delays, and rework costs. We invest heavily in the front end.

1. Design intake (Day 1): You send product dimensions, photos, or 3D files. Our engineer reviews for moldability — some geometries require minimum draft angles or wall thickness adjustments. We flag issues before any tooling work begins.
2. 3D modeling (Days 2-3): Digital mold model produced. You approve the render. This is where we optimize gating, venting, and draft angles.
3. CNC machining (Days 4-6): Mold cut from aluminum or steel based on production volume. Aluminum for standard runs (up to 100K cycles). Steel for high-volume runs (200K+ cycles).
4. Sample production (Day 7): Physical sample produced from your mold. We ship it to you. This is where you see the real 8mm embossing depth, feel the fiber texture, and test fit with your product.

Post-processing capabilities: 8mm high-relief embossing, precision trimming, UV protective coating (optional), manual assembly, and custom insert cards.
